Fully Renovated Mid-Century Chest of Drawers by UP Závody Bučovice, Walnut Storage Cabinet, 1960, Czechoslovakia
This chest is part of a standardized furniture set called “Bedroom – Living Room”, manufactured by the national enterprise UP Závody Bučovice, plant 21 Rýmařov. According to the original production label, this particular piece was made and shipped in 1960.
The cabinet features an ash-veneered particle board body, two white-front drawers with wooden handles at the top, an open shelf in the center, and a two-door cupboard at the bottom with distinctive round black pulls. The overall shape and proportions reflect early Czechoslovak functionalism transitioning into 1960s modernism.
