Retro Chests of Drawers, Jiří Jiroutek, 1960s, Czechoslovakia
A pair of retro chests of drawers designed by Jiří Jiroutek and produced in the former Czechoslovak Socialist Republic during the 1960s. The design reflects mid-century modern Czech furniture characterized by clean lines and functional storage, made for Interior Prague.
Constructed of veneered solid wood with two internal shelves behind sliding clear glass doors, supported on slender metal legs. The wood shows a healthy grain; the finish is original with minor abrasions consistent with age. The structure is solid with no major losses, preserving authentic material and design.
Original and very well preserved, a cohesive duo with matched proportions. Suitable for living or dining spaces seeking classic Czech mid-century character.
