This ART DECO daybed in the shape of a tulip was designed by architect Jindrich Halabala in the 1930s for UP Zavody. The piece is an example of the Czechoslovak Pre-war ART DECO style and it features a wooden structure that is veneered in the walnut with original mattresses. The daybed is in very good condition— it has been refurbished and polished to a high gloss finish with a shellac.
