Set of 12 Bentwood Bistro Chairs by J. & J. Kohn, Early 20th Century (Austria)
This complete set of 12 bentwood bistro chairs was produced by J. & J. Kohn in Vienna during the early 20th century. Reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the Austro-Hungarian bentwood tradition, the model corresponds to the catalogue typology of chair no. 14 / 214.
Made of bent beech with original reed-woven seats, the chairs display a warm, uniform patina. The double-loop backrest, circular seat, and structural ring between the legs present the characteristic proportions of early Kohn production. All pieces retain their original labels and manufacturer’s stamps.
The set is preserved in very good vintage condition with an intact and undamaged weave across all seats. Owing to their light construction and enduring strength, the chairs remain fully functional for both residential and commercial settings. This rare, fully cohesive set is offered as a whole to maintain its historical and visual integrity.
