This carved chair dates to around 1890 and represents an authentic example of late 19th-century European furniture in the spirit of historicism / neo-renaissance. The most prominent feature is the hand-carved backrest, centered by a heraldic double-headed eagle executed in high relief, reflecting the craftsmanship and symbolic ornamentation typical of the period.
The chair is made entirely of wood and retains its original leather seat, finished with brass studs that correspond with the turned legs and overall formal character. The carving shows careful detailing throughout, with a natural patina that highlights the depth of the relief and the age of the material. The structure remains solid and stable.
