Armchair, Mid-Century, Safari, Karin Mobring, 1970s, Sweden

This safari armchair dates to the 1970s and was designed by Karin Mobring, a Swedish designer associated with early IKEA furniture design. The chair reflects Scandinavian modernist principles of the period, combining functional construction with a restrained, utilitarian aesthetic.

The armchair is constructed with a solid pine wood frame and features an original canvas seat and back, secured with leather loops, a defining characteristic of classic safari-style seating. The honest materials and clear construction emphasize comfort, durability, and visual lightness.

The chair is preserved in original vintage condition. The wood and textile surfaces show visible patina and signs of use consistent with age, contributing to its authenticity and character. It works well as an accent chair in living rooms, studios, or interiors with a vintage, Scandinavian, or eclectic focus.
