Created in 1981 by Czech sculptor Jaroslav Vacek, Scientists reflects the expressive and conceptual tendencies of late 20th-century Czechoslovak sculpture. The work embodies Vacek’s interest in form, abstraction, and the human condition interpreted through material and gesture.
The sculpture presents a dynamic composition rendered in textured material, emphasizing contrast between solidity and movement. Its crafted surface and proportion convey both structural balance and symbolic meaning. The piece remains in excellent vintage condition, preserving its original character.
An authentic collectible from the postwar Czechoslovak art scene, this work stands as a refined example of the period’s sculptural experimentation.
