Functionalist Étagère by Anton Lorenz, Chrome & Wood Display Shelf, Bauhaus Style, Czechoslovakia
This elegant functionalist étagère was originally designed by Anton Lorenz and produced in the 1930s–1940s by the renowned manufacturer Robert Slezák, later known as the national company Kovona. It is a stunning piece of furniture that perfectly combines practicality with the timeless design characteristic of the functionalist period.
The structure is made of chromed tubular steel, ensuring stability and an airy appearance. Three black lacquered glass shelves provide ample space for decorations, plants, or books. The subtly curved edges and well-balanced symmetry give the étagère a sense of lightness and aesthetic harmony.
